Evergrey Interview
21.08.14
MG: "Hymns For The Broken is very different to previous Evergrey albums, now it’s near to release what are your feelings on the new album.
Johan: We are very excited about it, this is the band with these members first album and I feel it’s our best work.
We have been rehearsing most of the album with the idea of playing a lot of the new tracks live.
Although it will be difficult to decide a set list as we have so many songs from previous albums we like to perform on tour.
MG: Can you give me some insight into the album’s title
Johan: That’s a difficult question, it’s to do with life’s struggles and how some people are damaged inside by the way the worlds treated them.
MG: do you have a personal favourite track on Hymns for the broken
Johan: Yes but it changes, I really like “King of Errors” and “Barricades” today.
MG: The video for “King of Errors” is brilliant was it scary being so high up on the ship yard frame.
Johan: YES! I am scared of heights and it took ten minutes for my heart rate to return to normal once I was back on the ground!
MG: Are their plans for a second single release and o you have any ideas for the next video.
Johan: There is but I can’t reveal the plans yet...it’s a secret!
MG: Personally I feel “Missing You” would be a great single and would possibly make it into the mainstream charts.
Johan: That’s really very interesting , a lot of people today have suggested other songs of the album, but you are the first one to mention “Missing you” and you are right as it is more mainstream friendly and worth thinking about for a future release.
MG: what comes next for Ever grey, any tours or festival appearances planned
Johan: We are due to play in Romania and then we will be hitting the road next year, hopefully playing some big festivals etc.
MG: exciting times for Ever grey, I understand u have just released a new website today as well
Johan: Yes that’s right, we run the website and have a say in everything we do, it’s good to have control over things and makes us feel closer to our fans.
MG: four words to describe Ever grey
Johan: Powerful, Melodic, exciting and Swedish!
MG: Final words for your fans
Johan: Yes we would like to thank everyone for the support and buy our new album! Thankyou..
